Having acquainted with the intensity of Honda's B16 on the road thru my recently acquired ride has got me hooked on this daily need-for-speed ritual. It may not be the fastest kid on the block, but jus a measly but highly potent 1.6 litre twin cam screamer a.k.a Type R wannabe - I've always wanted an EK9, but my current ride would do juz fine..
Need-for-speed routine step-by-step:
1. Hit the open roads
2. Engage 1st gear & stomp on the accelerator & watch the revs climb eagerly towards heaven
3. Full throttle all d way; the magic mark is 6000rpm onwards whr the DOCH VTEC cams goes from wild to wow & ram u up the road like hornet gone beserk!
4. Gun it to a whopping 9000rpm to experience full effect before upshift
5. Repeat the crazy process again, stretch each gear to max - 2nd takes u to nearly 100km/h in under 8 secs flat, 3rd shud bring u close to 160 clicks
Addictive? Sure is. Thrilling - definitely... undeterred by the $0.30 petrol increase. Maybe it's the aural experience from that distinctive VTEC changeover exhaust note, so loud and mellow, both beautiful & forceful. I need my daily dose of VTEC...
