Project MG RX-178 Gundam Mk-II Ver. 2.0: Titans Prototype Mobile Suit ~ Final

This would be the wrap up for this Project after pulling a late night to apply the decals to complete the kit. Overall, i like the sophisticated design & unconventional color scheme of the MK-II Titan, however body proportion-wise, the size of its head is a little too small, i find; perhaps to allow for movement with the Vulcan Pod unit attached. For the poses, i tried to get it to mimick some of the awesome stances of the Humable Model Gundam RX-78-2 as reviewed by Ngee Khiong. This time, i utilized my standard kit lens thru the shoot which, gave me better maneuverability to compose my shots, given the constraint of my tiny room =p

Here are some of shots of my current on-going project again, now at its snap-build completion stage. For this particular build, i have decided to do away with only half of its armour installed, to expose its sophisticated skeletal frame which, i thought to be cooler until Bandai launched its clear part campaign recently... but as a whole kit *meaning i won't be able to purchase the clear parts only for my existing MGs... -_-"

Very high level of detail on the skeletal frame which entails tedious panel lining job to make it presentable... xp

Experimented with my newly acquired SP90 f/2.8 macro for this shoot; obviously the resultant pichas turned out to be quite crappy, just like these examples... -_-

I've still got a lot to work on to get the correct setup for toy photography...

Updates on Project Mk-II Titan to be continued after decal application stage is completed; now that i won't be going anywhere for this weekend, i'll see if i can get it ready for another proper shoot. =)

RX-178 MK-II Ver. 2.0 Titans

This is my current project in progress. Split between getting this or the similar RX-178 Mk-II A.E.U.G clad in the conventional color scheme, or just get them both! =p Then one fine day my mate, Valen called up saying he wanted to let go of his Mk-II Titans ~ saving me from this dilemma, hehe. I've really liked the design of the RX-178; it's like a more sophisticated classic Rx-78-2 without going over the top, & the unique color scheme of the Titans prototype version makes it even more exotic.

Got it on my recent trip back, it comes with some freebies as well, a gunpla special cutting mat; & i bought a sharp 0.3mm tip gunpla lining marker (newly released) which, is basically a pricey mechanical pencil; have yet to try it out though.
Impressive box-art; it's somewhat got a 'limited' edition feel to it. The dimensions of the box has extra height too.

It's got as much as 16 runners with some chrome coated parts and a neat looking braided hose for external umbilical controls on the knee, ankle joints & backpack. Cool!
