anime tracks ~ con't

Have been following a lot of anime series lately, since having my ride stuck at the painter's have somewhat limited my mobility, especially during off-work hours. These are 3 of my favorite themes from the recent anime series i have been watching / completed.

#1 Macross Frontier 2nd Opening Theme: LION ~ this song just captures the essence of the series. Macross Frontier is one of the most recent installment of the quarter-of-a-century old Macross franchise; ~ so is the animation styling, a throwback to the 80s... too old school to my liking; but it's got strong character development & a genius plot which, compelled me to stick to it through thick & thin right to the very end. At the end of the day, i've been converted into Macross fan. *i still love Gundams though*

#2 Naruto Shippuden 3rd Opening Theme: Blue Bird ~ A song of liberation. This series brings back a lot of fond memories of my internship days in Penang from a couple of year back. Back then, the Naruto-craze had just begun; my housemates being crazy all over it, i recall waiting in anticipation for each episode to be aired weekly, downloading them conveniently in office & catching every single episode together on a laptop in our tiny little rented flat.... come to think of it, my ex-room mate even looks like Naruto! =p
The series has long established since, going into the 2nd season after a couple of hundred episodes... one i still enjoy watching sparringly, despite having missed some stretch of episodes here & there in the middle.

#3 Gundam 00 Season 2 1st Opening Theme: Hakanaku mo towa no kanashi ~ need i say more.... one of the most anticipated series in my list. Impressive tracks to go with captivating action graphics & animation... the real plot is just beggining to unravel in season 2... Just watched it up to episode 4.... can't hardly wait for the upcoming ones.... i'm just a sucker for mecha anime series~! ^_*

Gundam Double O

Here's the 1st opening theme - DAYBREAK'S BELL, by L'ARC~en~Ciel; one of my favourite J-Rock band. Awesome opening theme & best ever of all the Gundam series! Even better than SEED.

Initial D 4th Stage ~ just recently completed watching the whole series... this is one anime series that only the motoring savvy lot would have better appreciation for; it's all about cars & touge battles ~ heavy on driving techniques & psycho-analytical tactics. Thick generic plot, extensive character development & humour elements ~ this series has little of. Putting those aside, the animation graphics detailing, color scheme & the CG effects are realistically superb; definitely a huge leap of improvement from the ealier stage installments. The best part are the sound clips of the cars; from the N/A twincam 4AGEs, VTECs, turbocharged REs to the mighty inline-6 GTRs ~ they all sounded distinctive from one another, realistic to each specific vehicle & engine. That is sweet sound of music to my ears (wished they would tweak up the volume of the revving engines a bit more). And then there's the up-tempo Engrish Eurobeat tunes which, builds up the tension & hype for the racing scenes. The movement & handling dynamics of the cars, down to how the swerve over each corner & ride over each bump are realistically potrayed, save from some ridiculous feats by the legendary AE86 i.e. over-the-open-gutter run in the early races (you got to be kidding me! though from physics' standpoint, theoretically possible).

Not suprising as the production is supervised by non other than the real oldman Drift King himself after all. * i have to see him pull off that over-the-open-gutter run in the Hot Version touge battles, yet*

The opening theme of 4th Stage: Dogfight by MOVE, the beat is just so catchy...

Project D's Keisuke Takahashi (Madza Rx-7 FD3S) Vs Purple Shadow's Kouzo 'God Foot' Hoshino (Nissan Skyline GTR V-Spec II Nur')

This ranks as my favourit-est battle of 'em all ~ intense & a mind-blowing climax!

Project D's Takumi Fujiwara (Toyota AE86 Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex) Vs Todo Juku's Tomoyuki Tachi (Honda Civic Type R - EK9)
deus ex machina for

Takumi... somehow the pro lost by sheer bad luck. That indigenous no-headlight run of his was just absolutely crazy!

Project D's Takumi Fujiwara (Toyota AE86 Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex) Vs Purple Shadow's Dr. Toshiya 'God Hand' Joushima (Honda S2000 Type V)

Battle finale.... 'nuff said.

I wonder if a 5th Stage would be in the pipeline?

Minamike
Came across this interesting clip at Danny's blog...

Just how interesting can an anime revolving around the daily antics of 3 gorgeous but very different sisters?
What's with the girly themed anime? Looks like one delightful & darn hilarious series to catch, to me... Loved the catchy opening theme & the animation character expression is done superbly, & all those cutesome girly characters are a plus ++ ^_^

Done with Destiny, now moving on to the prequel:

One animated sci-fi series i'm hooked on at the moment.
50 episodes long ~ is not usually what i would have patience for; but as the story develops, i'm finding it increasingly difficult to resists the temptation of "let's-watch-another-episode"; usually leads to another & yet another dragging into the wee hours, like i don't have to work the next day.. 8 more to go to the finale, the 50th episode.
Although the original Mobile Suit Gundam had debuted in Japan in 1979 & has had countless of sequels encompassing centuries of future history& spanned several alternate world, SEED Destiny series would be my 1st fascinating introduction into the universe of Gundam.
Gundam SEED Destiny is a sequel to Gundam SEED set in the Cosmic Era timeline; an age where
science has enabled humanity to explore both inner and outer space. Genetic engineering has created a new breed of superhuman Coordinators, and given birth to new resentments and prejudices that have split the human race in two. SEED Destiny's focus was placed more on the ideological conflicts held by the characters, with social commentary proposing a global government conspiracy theory. In a wide scope, the series poses the question of what would be the best path for humanity to follow: one where people's paths are chosen, but they are able to live to their full potential, or that of freedom and the inevitable conflict that will occur?

G.U.N.D.A.M ~ never knew it had any meaning in particular. Amusing.
A potrayal of realistic war machines instead of invincible superheroes, where the people who used these machines to engage in a futuristic space war were complex characters whose motivations and beliefs didn't break down into simple good and evil, and the story encompassed human drama and social commentary as well as thrilling robot battles.

The appeal of an anime? ~ is a medium that offers something for everyone.
Not convinced? Let go your inhibitions, go pick up a copy & watch.

Simon-san's Gundam. Quite a professional looking shot, i must say
