Engine cold start choke problem
Tried to get the problem fixed yesterday; started by getting replacement spark plugs of the correct spec. Been running on a more common set with lesser spec. Somehow ended up buying the exact wrong set, again.. got the refund but took a lot of hassle running around.

Lesson learnt: When in doubt, pop up hood & refer to spec on the engine housing
BKR6E-N11 -> yeap, 15 bucks a piece. the only spare part shop that has it in stock only has 3 left... damn.. got to wait til' monday to get it fixed..
Also droppped by some local tuner shop along the way... ended up spending on some trivial aesthetic stuffs

blazing red honda emblem - el-cheapo version at 15 bucks a piece

advan stickies, SPOON style at 10 bucks for a pair of 2
*also notice the front bumper hanging on tie-tie(s)

ah-nel dropped by for a car wash later that evening..

friday night traffic at jln. song. supposed to meet up some friends for a lim teh session..
to get there from my house = approx. 5mins
to get a parking space = approx. 20mins
more folks favoring kopitiam teh c peng over ang moh teh at the usual night spots on this very night... is it football season?

Enticingly colorful meal of nasi briyani...
what i had for lunch, venturing further out instead of the usual tabuan/bdc area food joints. Needed a change of menu.... & also, we all know how the cafeteria food sucks big time... so eating in's a definite no-no, unless there's a typhoon raging out there, or the API index hits 500

Dell Precision 340 SD: Intel Pentium4 2.66GHz - 1Gb RAM -FGL 8800 -80Gb - a designer level workstation; a couple of years old though... but should still be adequate for personal use (gaming, surfing, etc.) in terms of performance. In layman's term - a single-processor race horse... all i needed to know; save me all the spec details coz i'm no computer geek. An aquaintance of mine working for a design house currently moving office, & needs to move out some redundant inventories; is kind enough to let me in on some of the insider deals. Hope to get some good value bargain out of this if the deal gets underway... could save me a lot of bucks $$ from getting a pricey brand new note-book. hmm...

Mid-Autumn Festival

Taking a walk down the historical Carpenter Street at this time of the year feels special. Armed with my w810, i started snapping away... at everything, anything -> not unlike a guai lo in Borneo. It's Mooncake Festival after all & being at the heart of all the festivities happenings sure is interesting -->

starting out on the journey to the west

food, food, food!
a rather clumsy attempt at capturing the moment & downing a stick of delicious cumin lamb

fancy some mochi? or was it muachi? or machi??

ice-cream: before h'aagen-dazs, there was...

dipping & twisting it just right. Had an overdose of kantong, that i almost kantoi-ed!

unidentified flying objects
spotted!

a bonsai exhibition

an orchestra in the garden

catwalk under the moonlight

i wonder what's that got to do with mooncakes & lanterns? Had a hard time capturing the right shots of the models. slow shutter speed with the night mode & macro features turned on... dang.

catwalk of a different kind.... ahpek doing it the old skool way. Luv ur style, man...

bumper-to-bumper traffic

finally, a non battery-operated/electrical-powered lantern

at the other end

settling down for supper at kaki-lima stall beside the chinese opera house -> they're playing elvis' these days..

kolo-mee - kuchingnites favorite food of all time other than laksa

grand finale in the sky. another pleasant suprise... shot perfect - only after about 15 mins of countless shot attemps. timing is the key...

Just realized that i haven't got a single shot of mooncake

Movie Nite
Used to be a no-miss weekly affair during my care-free uni days, but occupational toll has caught up with me since... no longer as energetic or as eager to keep up with big-screen releases, jumping on the jam-packed wednesday movie-goers bandwagon... hunting for a parking spots can be a b^tch on movie days, not to mention eternity-long waits for the lift & having to hustle & wade across swarms of ppl just to get to your seat, on time..well, that was FUN once upon a time... i must be showing signs of 'senior citizenship' - aw, how pathetic... but the presence of scores of chicks is always helps=p
Tagged along with some friends from workplace.. had no idea what movie to expect... but from the title - Rob-B-Hood sure sounded like some lousy B-grade
Robin-Bo-Hood remake.. & for god's sake it's in cantonese! it's gonna be stereotypo no-head-no-tail hongkie flick... hell, no.
Looks like a kiddo movie from teaser poster though... hey, at least it's got the legendary Jackie Chan on the cover. Now, it can't be that bad can it? Well, when i go to the movies w/o any expectations, i usually get my money's worth. This one's no exception. Close to a full-blown comedy with healthy doses of adrenalin rush in between, dilemma checks with equally touching scenes & heart-warming characters -> i'm like =) when the credit rolls. 2 tough guys playing a hopeless pair of 'mummy' & 'daddy' -damn hilarious..
Recommended! Hey, it's got a 4.5/5.0 rating afterall ...

Synopsis
"Rob-B-Hood" is about three professional thieves who take on their toughest assignment to date - to kidnap a HK$30 million baby for a group of gangsters who claim that the baby belongs to them. However, one thing leads to another and the trio find themselves facing a moral dilemma. The little hostage has managed to warm his kidnappers'' hearts, forcing them to choose between the ransom and their conscience.

Life's a gastronomical journey...
no better way to spend a saturday evening than to indulge in fine japanese cuisine & enjoying the experience with a couple of good friends. Sashimi, raw & smoked salmon, california maki, unagi & etc. Rich in mouth-watering variety from the light starters to main course & deserts, i can see why the place's packed to the brim, & reservations need to be made well ahead (+1 week for our case). We soon found ourselves lost for words - getting absorbed, savoring the heavenly food experience.

it's a feast!
