4 Reasons why i need a faster lens

1...... 2...... 3...... 4.....
Even when shooting in continuous mode at 3.5fps, at ISO800 & at the widest allowable aperture, i can't seem to be able to 'freeze' the action. No way i could shoot faster than 1/10 in that lighting condition (no flash) without ending up with severe under-expose... so i had be contented with those ghost-motion shots. On the other hand, my buddy Louis had a much easier life, having had a much 'optically faster' lens (50mm F/1.8) at his disposal; me envious of your shots, bro...
*Those are some snapshots of the Hip-Hop Invasion B-boy Battle held in conjunction with the Inter-cultural Mooncake Festival at Carpenter Street the on Sunday night... more to come soon... =)

Hmm... i should consider getting something like this:

LEICA NOCTILUX-M 50mm F/0.95 ASPH ~ the worlds' fastest aspherical lens!!
Will be available next February, at a price tag of
£6290 only.... Yeaps... i'll be sure to get those if i strike the $20million tomorrow.... xp

are you using the canon kit lens? For your case, buy a flash better.. there is no way to freeze those actions indoor.. that's my opinion

hi kee yew... yup, everything standard issue at the moment... went with louis; he was using 50mm f/1.8 lens... managed to freeze some of the action. that EF50mm f/1.8 macro lens come quite affordable... much cheaper than a decent external flash.. but in the long run, getting flash a must anyway,,, =)

Btw, the 50mm f1.8 u talking about is not a macro lens.

If you willing to top up abit, 50mm f1.4, 85mm f1.8, 100mm f2 are better choices. Anyway, since 50mm 1.8 is much more affordable, worth a try also.

anyway do visit my photos if you interested. www.flickr.com/photos/keeyew
