Project EX Arch Angel

From Gunpla

This is the 1/1700 scale model kit of the famous legged ship from the Gundam SEED series. *long overdue update; actually had completed this kit earlier this month* Actually helped to complete this kit on behalf of a friend bought it, started assembling for the 1st 15 minutes then lost interest... classified as ‘Projek Tergendala’ since 2007, maybe., =p

This non-grade kit features all parts, in white color only *except for the partially red lower wing; about the only part painted & colored by the owner, before project abandonment*. Being mono-color for most part, this kit required lots of tedious panel lining to bring out the intricate details of the ship to light. The elaborate level of details, i.e. panel lines is much harder to achieve using the standard 0.5 tip *correct me if i’m wrong* Gundam panel lining marker; i utilized a 3rd party 0.2tip modeler marker *much less messy panel lining job; but the ink does not seem to adhere as good, and the delicate tip tends to get damage easily*
From Gunpla
The kit comes with extra interchangeable parts to enable conversion to its nemesis, the Dominion; with color scheme change (respray needed) of course. Also included is the miniscule miniscule GAT-X105 Strike Gundam, GAT-X103 Buster Gundam, TAS-MA2 and FX-550 fighters as well *non-moveable* plus a special display stand.

From Gunpla
*looks too plain without spray paint... this is one kit that mandates spray painting*

From Gunpla
If it were scaled to 1/100 MG it would be huge enough to fill up a whole room!

thanks for dropping by cynthia! =)
this piece still lacks in the vibrancy aspect though; needs spray color coating to bring it to life... *i'm not up to that standard yet, still strictly a snap-fit enthusiast* =p

Yea, been meaning to try Mike's markers on it for a while now. Especially the larger panel areas.

Didn't know it has interchangable parts with the Dominion. Shows you how far I got. Actually got this while I was in Penang in 2006 so its 3 years overdue.

All the ships needs spray painting, otherwise I would have gotten 1 with colour. Initially I wanted to use my friend's modeling paint to paint it, but as you can see from the wings, the colour didn't take very well and was abandoned shortly.

ha, it's really that 'ancient' after all... maybe modeling paint u experimented with was meant for a different grade of plastic... now u just need to poison mike to get the air brush paint kit! =p
