Project Civic Revisit

This is what a 200whp All-Motor 1.6L sounds like ~ also what i aspire to realistically achieve with my Project Civic *soon; 200 naturally aspirated horses, at the flywheel, at least - to hit that magical output of 125hp per litre from a high revving potent little engine =)

RX-0 Unicorn Gundam + Head Display Base

From Gunpla

RX-0 Unicorn Gundam + Destroy Mode Head Display Base
*only realized that the display base is only compatible with HGUC grade Gunplas -__-"
(The head display base) Looks pretty plain with the all white parts + semi-transparent red inner parts only; luckily i had some extra redundant decals from the MG kit to bling up this display base (not yet applied at the time this picture was taken). Still lacks color coding for the inner neck part, gold coating for the antenna & green flourescent decals to light up its eyes. It transform quite effortlessly though, unlike its MG counterpart =)

From Gunpla

Revisiting Project MG RX-0 Unicorn Gundam ~
From Gunpla

*just assembled the leftover uncompleted arsenal from almost 2 years ago, the Magnum Beam rifle (not in picture yet) which, actually has more parts than the Head Display Base itself!
looks cool & sophisticated but is quite a pain in the butt to transform, & rather fragile too... the snap fit parts just wear out too soon, after a couple of transformations in between Unicorn & Destroy Mode & is starting to fall apart already... *strictly a display only model, & it's tough choosing either between the 2 modes to stick with. Updates in Destroy mode to come soon (after i overhaul my MG Unicorn) xp

January Goodies

Furoku Grade ~ RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Head Display Base
From Gunpla

From Gunpla

From Gunpla

From Gunpla

is a much sought after special item that comes with the January 2010 issue of Dengeki Hobby Japan
Had placed the pre-order for this magazine since last November together with my Gunpla kaki housemate; pricey but well worth it!
From Gunpla

definitely a very unique looking display base for MG Unicorn (maybe for its antagonist, Sinanju as well)
From Gunpla

Now this gives me a reason to re-visit Project MG RX-0 Unicorn Gundam which i have completed almost 2 years ago =)

Yet another Gunpla mini-project

SD Blu Duel Gundam @ GAT-X 1022 from SEED Stargazer series

From Gunpla

I'd get a small project like these every now & then just to keep the modeling bug at bay... =p
Now i'm figuring whether to get the remaining 2 BBs from this Stargazer series as well, namely the Strike Noir Gundam & Verde Buster Gundam (just like i did with the whole lineup of BB Zakus from SEED Destiny) =)

Figma Drossel

From Miscellaneous

~ Presenting the royal duchess from 'Fireball'~!
No, i haven't really watched the animation series yet but seeing this ultra-cool gynoid for the very 1st time on dannychoo.com has made me put her on the top of my wishlist since quite a while ago... To begin with, this Figma Drossel has been quite a hot commodity on the market & isn't easy to come by; no thanks to the over-demand, its price tag has been quite inflated... but my darling got it for me as a surprise for my birthday~! Thanks, dearie! ^_*
From Figurines

'Fireball' is a series of CGI anime shorts created by Toei Animation in conjunction with Disney, hence the very cutesy propositions of the character design. It features the Figma series' brilliant joint system (more sturdy compared to my Revoltech Yoko) ~ very easy to strike dynamic poses without requiring support from the base stand that comes with the kit.
From Figurines

Comes with a full arsenal of what i call 'fashion gestures' units ~ i.e 4 pairs of optional hand parts, 2 interchangeable head units + Obruchev flight unit, a very high-tech looking memory device, & the PROSPERO book.

From Figurines

From Figurines
She's a very lively character, ain't she?
From Figurines
That must be the PROSPERO book.... or bible =p
From Figurines
i can almost read the words, but not sure what language it is written in...
From Figurines
Very intricate looking head piece
From Figurines

From Figurines
that transforms into the Obruchev flight unit!
From Figurines
Donning that memory device transports her mind back into the 18th century
From Figurines
when she was a kung fu master! =p

behind the scenes shot.... hehe ^_*
This blue-eyed model is definitely capable of striking very compelling poses... if only they'd made her with optional LEDs to light up her eyes. =D

1st Post of the New Decade

This is going to be my 1st post of the year that does not begin with 'My New Year Resolution... ' ~ coz i haven't really started to ponder about it just yet. It just felt like the 1st ten years of this new millennium has passed by in a breeze. I could barely recall what i was doing or thinking, as of this time of the year, 10 years ago. Have gone a long way & matured a great deal since... but the turn of century still felt like it wasn't that long ago. Just wanna count my blessings for all that life has given me, being able to spend time with my loved ones, good company of friends & a job to sustain myself ~ to kickstart 2010 on a bright note =D
Had a blasting good time counting down to usher the new year 2010 the past few days with my darling, & the good company of my buddies ~ "Lih-yu-nion~! finally... yay!"
On sad note, i've just received a tragic news that one of my colleague had perished in an accident in the early morning of the 1st. Going back to office after the year-end break & be missing one familiar face will be mind numbing =(
May she rest in peace...
It goes to remind me that life is short as well, so got to cherish what you have =)

Sunset @ Esplanade

From Miri

From Miri

28th Dec, 2009 ~ Finally, we made it to the beach in time to catch the sunset; we've been longing to go but it had always never failed to rain each time....
From Miri

Location: Esplanade Beach, Miri (one of the best places to catch sunset in Miri)
Gears: 450D + standard kit lens + built-in flash + tissue-paper-DIY-diffuser (for the potrait shots)
~ a simple setup that yields interesting results; much to my suprise... i haven't been a big fan of the built-in flash
* View the full set of pics in my FB =)

The final outcome ~ very pleasing to the eye... =D

Project MG RX-75 Guntank ~ Part V: Lower Body (cont') + Tracks

From Gunpla

From Gunpla

From Gunpla

Suspension parts & wheel assembly ~ lots of tedious trimming & panel lining work to be done here, due to the vast amount of parts
From Gunpla

Close up of the lower body which holds the suspension & wheels assembly
From Gunpla

From Gunpla

Cool gimmick which enables the left / right track assembly to be height adjustable independently by using a toggle switch
From Gunpla

From Gunpla

The chain of track consist of 38 pieces for each side; can be easily configured by snap-on & is designed to be functional!
*the downside is that the snap-on connection can be quite flimsy & breaks easily... -_- so this Guntank is strictly a display only model

28th Loot

From Miscellaneous

Some goodies for my 28th B’day / X’mas to keep me happily occupied for days to come in the near future =D
From Miscellaneous

1st up, Figma Drossel from my darling, which has been on my wishlist for quite awhile ~ *muacks* dear!
From Miscellaneous

1500 Tacktician basketball from my buddies here ~ i’ve been an avid baller since young, but haven’t been playing actively since my high school days; this gives me a good reason to pick up & start again; while i still can =p
From Miscellaneous

Some lovely eye-candies to grace my desktop from my Secret Santa ^_*
From Miscellaneous

The prized RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Head Display Base which comes with the January 2010 edition of Dengeki Hobby Japan ~ pretty exclusive & expensive stuff, no thanks to shipping cost plus the strong surge of the japanese yen currency recently -_-
Got to have this, it’ll look great when paired with my MG Unicorn! =D
*In light of my shrinking available capacity in Picasa Web Album *almost used up the whole 1028MB capacity* and the convenience & better interactiveness of FB, where most of the photos of the happenings around me have been posted lately ~ i’ll stick to this trend & reserve the updates for this blog to be more oriented on my hobbies only ~ i.e. Gunpla, cars & etc.
