Greetings from the Land Below the Wind...

010307

Touched down at KKIA Terminal 2 at 11:25pm. Initially scheduled to depart from KIA at 7:40pm, our flight was rescheduled to 9:00pm plus the oh-so-expected delays, we only took off around 9:50pm.

A Rm20 15mins cab ride later, we reached our destination, Hotel Capital strategically located at the turn of Jln. Haji Saman, one of the few main roads in downtown with the famous Jesselton Point ferry terminal in full view. With an outlook reminiscent of hey-day 80s hotels, the rooms are squeaking-ly clean & neat. Rm125 for a twin-sharing room at a 2-star; hotel rates in KK don’t come cheap. Settling for budget inns & lodges aplenty, scattered around town would definitely be a more economical choice, but we decided to be not-so adventurous this time round – sleeping in a dormitory & sharing common bathroom isn’t exactly an average M’sian idea of travel & vacation, though I’ve got no problem with that. Had bah kut teh for supper at a nearby coffee shop. Having Klang bah kut teh at KK in the middle of the night? How ironic.
