2007 roll up ~ yet another eventful year will come to a pass soon. It's been a year full or ups & downs, fair shares of pleasant & not-so pleasant unexpected events, some memorable first-time(s)... Here are some of the memorable pieces of me ~ 2007 edition , chronicled in a series of photos (as correctly recalled by my photographic memory) =p :

Sabah-mari: 1st vacation of the year right after my 2-month long graveyard shift

Went white-water rafting for the first time ever! = Exciting; definitely looking forward to taking on a more challenging rapid the next time round
Sight-seeing cum snorkelling at the island resorts = Exotic =p
*did not get to climb Mt. Kinabalu though... we shall be back another day!*

1/2 month later ~ Shanghai-mari for the ISTC conference

furthest i've been away from home... just right after winter ~ very chilly still, my lips cracked the whole time i was there... piping hot & spicy steamboat with booze were my best friend there... as business trip as it may be (presenting paper in an international conference is the best legitimate justification for an all-expense paid vacation... plus the pre-presentation stress of course.. =p), it turned out to be a memorable trip...

Celebrating Gawai in a real longhouse

~ an Authentic Gawai Experience... a very unique & memorable one for me... with endless flow of tuaks for 3D2Ns, hehe =p

The Kayak Adventure...

Another 1st time ever... & so close to home ~ Exciting & relaxing experience: Exciting = some rapids to negotiate, a capsized incident or two, some water-tarzan action, plus heavy downpour halfway thru the course.. Relaxing = tranquility of gracefully drifting downstream into the rainforest, beautiful & breathtaking sceneries along the journey & a very steady kayak mate =)

Bitten by the Gun-Pla bug...

MG Strike Freedom ~ the very 1st Gundam kit i completed; took a 1/2 months of late-night meticulous efforts (sacrificed many dates, in the process =p)

Bali-mari ~ I've been to paradise!! =)

My 1st ever underwater experience @ 8m underwater off Nusa Dua shores!

Okie, enough said... I'LL BE BACK!

A memorable beach trip to Siar Beach, Lundu...

Fab Race 5

To have been in this company for almost 3 years now & not have joined the famed annual FabRace is a shame ~ half your working life wasted lar, like that.... This time round i wouldn't miss it for the world. It turned out to be quite a fun & fruitful outing after all =)

2007 has been an auspicious year to tie the knot. Many dear friends & their loved ones 'levelled-up'. All the best to them ! =)

This one's got the wackiest collage of them all ~ definitely embodies the Litho-Boleh spirit! Only my beloved wacky & khim siu fellow colleagues would be creative to come up with something like this. Kudos!

Hope ya'll have a year that starts right & ends happy. Happy New Year! =)

Project X'mas Gundam ~ A high-grade 1/144 scale Sword Impulse Gundam i've got recently; a bootleg version though... parts made of lower-grade plastic (cheapo plasticky looking), intricate parts moulding mediocre at best, part fittings are flimsy ~ if they even fit at all, joints are either downright stiff or loose & sucky decals (expected). Got mine completed in no time; just simply hantam, no worries *stress-free* about screwing up the kit or decals ~ coz they aren't expensive to begin with... =p

Well, the end result turned out to be quite satisfying... =)

Heck, it looked so damn good (at least in the pics) ~ especially when armed with that massive double-edged Excalibur Anti-Ship Sword!

Ciplak version ~ got to love the translation... =p

Genuine stuff from Bandai ~ made-in-Japan doesn't need any more introduction...
Worlds apart in terms of quality. As pricey as they may be, i'd still stick with 'ori'. Nevertheless, it's been an afternoon of Gunpla-ing fun for me... =)

Ta pau-ed KFC for dinner on the way home from work...

Woa, i didn't know they had this new customer service scheme implemented!
Got a bigger than normal fillings for my zinger burger summore!
Not bad huh... pick up line on a KFC take-away box??? Are you kidding me?? Hahah! =D
Checking out Uncle Darryl's ride...

fresh from the paint-shop; shiny in all its glory...

Brembos lurking behind... That's your how many-ieth set of rims? *apala...change rim more often than i change undies..??* =p

Engine bay's also not spared from a Christmas make-over...

Mugen powaahh! eh, mana pegi lu punya 4-1 header?

DC5 wheel...

Apexi' AFC NEO ~ that's one piece of very trick gadget ~ that i could not afford...

Looking back, my ride once shone as proudly too... but all that has deteriorated into a custom 2-tone since ~ cream-colored on the top, fading white all around... thanks to all-weather 24-7 exposure & also largely due to owner's polish treatment negligence & irregular (gradually decreasing frequency) wash sessions over a period of 2 years... damn, she needs a new paint job. There goes my bonus $$ ....

It's a home alone Christmas for me this year... quiet & peaceful =) My family's away to attend a cousin's wedding in Sibu... but i'm not alone...

Presents galore!!

A HG 1/144 Sword Impulse Gundam i got for the Christmas gift exchange...
he's gonna keep me occupied for a 1/2 day's worth of Gunpla fun.. =p

not the genuine stuff (as i had hoped) though, but rather a bootleg cheapo version... plastic build quality is rather inferior & the part fittings looks questionable. Well, i'm not going to rant about it much.. after all it's the thought (in giving away pressies) that counts... & it's 1/2 day's worth modelling fun anyways. =) *gonna post more once i'm done building*
Some other pressies:

from the litho xiao mui-mui(s) with love =p

mrtoilet's recent S'pore trip souvenir ~ Sasuke from Naruto's... *my ex-roomie presented me a similar one from his private collection when we parted ways after my internship days in Penang... ah, how nostalgic*

A super-sized Coke (all-time favourite drink) from Japan & a bling-bling tee (belated b'day pressie)

Thanks mates! Received tons this year... only regret ~ i haven't been giving away enough...

Christmas Eve Dinner @ Magenta Restaurant ~ i've always been looking forward to taste the fine dining experience here... reputed to be the best in town. Set in a converted old malay house with very oriental interior decor, the warm & cozy ambience is just great, be it for a merry get-together makan for buddies or an intimate dinner for lovebirds... soft music in background blends in nicely...

& the food ~ italian, very finely infused with some local flavours is simply excellent! Let the pixes do the talking:
Oyster Bisque with.....*something* Leeks & Blue Cheese Croutons soup for openers (lengthy name... too busy eating away to remember snapping any pics =p)

Appetizer: Duck Confit Salad with Honey Mustard dressing (exotic eh?)

Main course: Rosemary-Roasted Turkey (of course! what else is more fitting for a Christmas dinner?) & Santa Fe Stuffing Timbale.. bla-bla-bla... *too long to recall*

Desert: Eggnog Panna Cotta (exotic sounding too eh?)
A full course meal here costs a premium (for the general masses like me), but i tell you, it's worth every single cent! This is what fine dining experience should be like....

enjoyed a hearty meal with the usual suspects...
Christmas is the time to...

show some "brotherly love"

& "brotherly-sisterly love" as well... =p
*08-08-08*

So what's next for New Years Eve?? =)

Subjek: TAHUKAH ANDA (fwd..)

Kuching Motor Show '07 ~ Here are some pics to drool over... =p

An impressive lineup of modded Jap supercars ~ WRX STis Ver.8/9 (Scoobies becoming more mainstream these days), EVOs 8/9, Skyline GT-Ts/GT-R with the exception of a lone euro Hamann kitted Mini = neat... but where are the Rotary brethen (RX-7/8)?? 350Zs (the black Veilside one running on massive 20" bling-blings)? Supras (Paul Walker's Fast & Furious replica from a couple of auto salons ago)? MR-S (a couple "sneezy' examples spotted running around town)? Silvias (S15-80)? The party just isn't complete without those fellas...

Finally some variety on Day2... a 350Z roadster! sexxay... excess fat & bulge has never looked so good *only applicable to cars* =p

An ICE demo Jazz sporting a menacing front mounted intake... interfooler turbo?
Done with the rides, something still feels amiss... no hot autoshow models??? an chua cho a neh???
